First it was Fable II, now it's Too Human. I am sad to say friends that our evil overlords at Microsoft have won, and I will finally have to break down and buy a 360 in order to play the games I've been waiting for. While I mourn the loss of my soul, read the Too Human hands on over at Gamepro. Super awesomeness is worth one little soul, right?

Meh. It took them 10 years to make this game and there planing on making 2 more!
Ive seen the game in action (looking over an Editor's shoulder) and while I'm not allowed to go in to details about anything I see around the office, I will say it looks like a lot of fun to play, especially in the co-op mode.
Worth the excessively long development time? I'd have to get some actual hands on time myself before making that call...
Very tempting, it's true. I've had the same thoughts. Maybe this game will get me to throw down the cash. I'll wait until it comes out, though, and watch a friend play it first.
Looks interesting, especially the Norse mythology part, and it looks like it will have a pretty good story. Not totally convinced, though. The only RPG that I'd buy a 360 for as of now is Tales of Vesperia... it looks amazing.
Man, I really have to wait and see how the retail version and reviews pan out. I haven't been hearing good stuff thus far which kinda sucks. I wanted to check it out.
Alas, I still have Fable 2 to look forward to.
Yeah, everyone I know who's played it at other outlets ended up not thinking much of it, and I hear the story mode is something like 8 hours long with an abrupt cliffhanger ending. :(
I'm really hoping this turns out to be wrong or insanely more fun in co-op or something. Silicon Knights has a lot to lose if their 360 debut fizzles, and after the great stuff they did on the GameCube I would hate to see that happen.
Agreed. Besides, they need to finish up Too Human so they can start work on Eternal Darkness 2! ^_^
Hells yes, Art. A Wii or 360 Eternal Darkness 2 would rock the house. Eternal Darkness and Fatal Frame are pretty much the only survival horror games I ever really, really got into.
(Res Evil is good, but... not just the same as fighting Cthulhu or killing ghosts with cameras, you know?)
By the way, have you been keeping track of a PC action RPG called Space Siege? I was writing about it last week and I find it absolutely freaky how much its premise is like Too Human's, weird Baldr stuff aside.
I'm really going to be curious to hear opinions on Too Human. I fully expect them to be quite mixed indeed, but I suspect like Eternal Darkness, it's going to have a strong but small dedicated fanbase right out of the box. I'm wondering if it will retain Eternal Darkness's following however. It's a pretty different game and I think Eternal Darkness' strength was as much in its storyline and bizarre visuals as its gameplay. (I mean, I loved Eternal Darkness, but I've been replaying it recently and the actual GAMEPLAY hasn't aged that well. It just helps that the gameplay is bookended by a lot of super-awesome ideas.)
I'd rather see an Eternal Darkness myself. I have yet to see anything in Too Human that makes me want it. Even the movies seemed to have a poor production value. Maybe I am spoiled by blizzard? Eternal Darkness was never a disappoint from day one, and I hunger for another. Let us not forgot though these guys gave us Kain, with whom we would never have had Soul Reaver.
Well, the rumor is that they're going to be doing more Eternal Darkness after they finish up the Too Human trilogy... we just have to hope that it doesn't take them another 10 years to pop out Too Human 2!
