Last time we checked in on Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, we didn't know much. Just that it was turn-based, Knuckles was kidnapped, and other small things that didn't really make us look passed the WTF feeling of BioWare making a Sonic RPG. I'm over that part now though, and just want to know what's up with the game.
Here's what up: BioWare recently showed off what it called a "pre-alpha" build of the game at the Nintendo Media Summit in San Francisco. Below are the raw details of how the game is shaping up. Still no word on the little furry creatures being harvested/skinned/sewn into powerful, thick armor, as has been my one wish of the game.
Leveling up System-New abilities can be purchased 5 skill points
-Every time you level up, you get 5 skill points
-Upgrading existing abilities costs 10, and 15 points
Party and Abilities
-Tails abilities: flying, gadgetry manipulating
-Big abilities: temporarily invincible
-Rouge abilities: sneaking/thievery, flying
-Can have 4 characters in your party
Misc. Details
-Rings act as currency in the game-world
-Conversation system (a-la Mass Effect) will let you choose different moods of responses; you can end it quick, find out more info, or lay down some smart alecky Sonic quips.
Combat
-The combat is turn-based, with some "perfect timing" elements for power attacks
-Speedy Stylus-circling results is faster spin attacks by Sonic
