GDC Update: Gears of War 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 and the GDC Awards

There were two main events today at GDC. The awards, and the Microsoft keynote. BioShock took big wins in writing, visual arts and audio, while the Microsoft keynote delivered a release date for Gears of War 2 (Nov. 15, 2008...already sort of knew that) and the whole "Xbox Live Community Games" thing where you can make games and publish them over Xbox Live.

But really the best thing about GDC today was that Ninja Gaiden 2 gameplay footage. Let's not kid ourselves here. Is it great that Portal won Game of the Year? Sorta. Was Microsoft's announcement about the community thing exciting? The answer to both of those is "Yes, Ryu Hayabusa kicks ass."

I'd describe what's seen in the video, but here it is instead. We're taking any suggestions on how to make June 3rd, 2008 arrive faster if you have them.
