If you doubted this "Sonic RPG" thing from the first time you heard about it last year, we would like to remind you of BioWare's evil power when it comes to adapting existing licenses. Take BG2: Shadows of Amn (D&D) and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Star Wars) for instance. Both of those games were so good they trumped the licenses they were inspired by, 'god sakes.
So if anyone can adapt Sonic the Hedgehog from loop-de-loop platforming glory into hit points and villages, it's BioWare.
And new details are in, kids (via IGN)
New darkness after the jump:Story: Knuckles has been kidnapped, the emeralds are disappearing, and Sonic-and-crew simply will not stand for that. The story unfolds through two acts. Act 1 is the "what's happening to the beautiful world?!" act. Act 2 takes place in another dimension, and the events are unrevealed
Series Environments: Green Hill Zone, Central City, Mystic Ruins and the Blue Ridge Zone
Party Limit: Can have 4 characters in your party
Characters: currently known characters: Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Tails, Rouge the Bat and Big
We'll keep our ear to ground for future updates, especially what the shrouded "Act 2" involves. All I really care about, as I've said before, is the ability to hunt/kill/skin those fluffy creatures from Sonic and make them into armor. It's should be dark, dark dark. That's my take anyway.
